Importance of White Space in Website Design

For bettering the visual appeal of a website, a designer needs to keep some unused space or white space in a webpage. White space or unused space generates a soothing effect on the eyes of visitors. Use of too many images may turn a webpage into a veritable clutter and therefore unused space needs to be utilized with utmost dexterity.

None but an experienced website designer can execute this complex balancing task deftly. White space needs to be used in a webpage in such a way that it may become impossible for a viewer to differentiate this space from the rest of the webpage. It should not be treated just as an empty space.
